Lace Spine in a  box

The spine and sacrum were drawn in thread using freehand machine embroidery.
I am really drawn to old wooden crates and boxes at the moment and love the way the lace looks with the texture and colour of the old wood.
This is not so much a complete and finished piece as a continued exploration of ideas and materials.
